IndictBreitbart.org is a new campaign to seek accountability for the violations of criminal law committed by Andrew Breitbart, James O'Keefe and Hannah Giles. O’Keefe and Giles illegally and surreptitiously recorded employees of the Baltimore ACORN office in the summer of 2009 and then their employer Breitbart illegally published their edited versions online in order to harm ACORN. This is a grassroots campaign to let law enforcement officials in Maryland know that ordinary citizens want accountability.
Since that illegal conduct occurred, numerous official reports have come out showing that O'Keefe, Giles and Breitbart acted illegally/unethically with regard to their ACORN recordings. Those reports are listed here. Also, James O'Keefe has been arrested and convicted for tampering with the phones in Senator Mary Landrieu's office, and he is under investigation for attempting to lure a CNN reporter on to a boat in Maryland for nefarious purposes. Andrew Breitbart was responsible for posting an edited recording of Department of Agriculture employee Shirley Sherrod which resulted in her improper firing. A subsequent investigation determined that she did nothing wrong and should be reinstated.
You can help hold these people accountable for violating Maryland law by signing this letter to Gregg Bernstein, the new Baltimore State's Attorney.

March 13, 2013- I'm prepping for my KPFK/Pacifica Radio show today, when I'll be joined by Eugene Iredale, the attorney for former San Diego ACORN worker Juan Carlos Vera who won a $100,000 settlement from federal criminal and professional liar James O'Keefe last week in an invasion of privacy lawsuit (and a $50,000 settlement from O'Keefe's former partner Hannah Giles last summer). You can listen live at 6pm ET / 3pm PT right here. [Update: Here's the interview...].
News of payment follows on James O'Keefe's agreement last week to pay $100,000 to same secretly-taped former ACORN employee...

March 12, 2013- Pretend journalist and Republican activist Hannah Giles agreed to pay $50,000 to former San Diego ACORN worker Juan Carlos Vera as a part of a legal settlement struck last summer in response to an invasion of privacy lawsuit filed against her and her former partner James O'Keefe, Vera's attorney Eugene Iredale has confirmed to The BRAD BLOG.
Last week, in a scoop by the website Wonkette, it was disclosed that O'Keefe, a federal criminal and professional liar, agreed to pay $100,000 in his own legal settlement with the same former ACORN employee, after heading up the scheme to secretly videotape him in violation of California's Invasion of Privacy Act (Cal. Penal Code § 632).
Who will sue the federal criminal next?...

March 8, 2013- Former San Diego ACORN worker, Juan Carlos Vera will receive $100,000 in a settlement from federal criminal and professional liar James O'Keefe, after being secretly video-taped in violation of California law by the Rightwing propagandist. The tape was just one in a series of similar videos, all deceptively edited as part of his 2009 ACORN "pimp" hoax series.
Several different official investigations, including those by the former MA Attorney General [PDF], by the Kings County, NY District Attorney, and by the CA Attorney General all determined that there were no violations of law performed by any ACORN worker seen in the several surreptitiously taped videos. The officials found the tapes were "highly" and "deceptively" edited.
Wonkette: Wonket Sexclusive: Totally Blameless Crime-Stopper James O’Keefe To Pay $100,000 To ACORN Criminal

March 7, 2013- James O’Keefe—the blonde bombshell who set the conservative world of hidden-camera YouTube movies ablaze—has just agreed to a $100,000 settlement to calm down the unjustly fired (and weirdly litigious about it) ACORN employee Juan Carlos Vera. According to a copy of the deal, obtained late last night by your wonkettes and viewable after the jump, O’Keefe has also agreed to ink an 11-word non-apology apology, that sources close to reality are calling “insincere” and “suuuuuuuch bullshit.”
The Atlantic Wire: Cops Blame James O'Keefe for Sinking Their Investigation into His Voter Fraud Sting
-By Elspeth Reeve
January 31, 2013- There's no publicity in the follow-up. Conservative activist James O'Keefe earned praise for secretly taping Virginia Rep. Jim Moran's son Patrick seemingly giving advice on how to commit voter fraud in October, but three months later law enforcement has closed their investigation because, they say, O'Keefe wouldn't cooperate.
December 3, 2012- This is not a story about free speech, but when it is published the right wing will squawk loud, long and hard about how it really is about free speech. They use free speech as a cudgel: They're always entitled to it, but the rest of us can just shut the hell up and sit down. For the right, free speech is only free when it supports their point of view.
In a nutshell, this is the story of slime merchant James O'Keefe's attempts to prevent the truth about the ugly underbelly of his smear operations from becoming known -- in part because that truth could well land him in prison -- and how his cohorts in the smear operation, especially his "legal team" in the L.A. District Attorney's office, have relentlessly attempted to keep that truth hidden.
